14" (36 cm.) Each has finely sculpted face and hair with well painted features,hemp-wrapped body,earthenware lower arms and legs,expressively posed fingers,sculpted stockings and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neopolitan,early 1800s,depicted are the Three Wise Men,including an older man with sculpted beard,younger man with handsome face,and black Moroccan. Value Points: rare dolls with superbly preserved silk costumes,including padded turbans with metal crown,and along with carved bone treasure chest,and two silver chests. Being sold from The Strong Museum to benefit the collection funds,ex-collection Margaret Woodbury Strong.
