14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, large dark brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, rose-blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, light retouch to body finish. Marks: 136. Comments: Sonneberg, maker unknown, circa 1886. Value Points: especially beautiful painting of eyeshadow and complementary cheek blush on the early closed mouth doll.
