36" (91 cm.) doll. (40" including coiffe). Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, blue side-glancing eyes, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig with extended-length braids having interwoven ribbons, muslin elongated torso and legs with floppy hip jointing designed for sitting poses, stitch-jointed knees, felt arms with modeled bent elbows. Condition: generally excellent, very minor fading. Comments: Lenci, their model 187, depicting a Russian dancer inspired by the popularity of the Ballet Russe which swept Europe at that time, circa 1925. Value Points: very rare early-period Lenci in stunning size and costume, indicating its luxury status, wearing elaborate vibrant felt costume with extensive applique and embroidery, including superb coiffe, and knee-high leather boots with embroidered detail.
