Description
8" (20 cm.) Each is all-wooden with detailed musculature and painted coats and finish, including six animals with glass eyes comprising alligator with leather feet, lion (worn cloth ruff), tiger with open mouth, donkey, poodle (worn cloth ruff), and buffalo (cloth ruff missing); six animals with painted eyes comprising two-hump camel, giraffe with closed mouth, dappled horse with carved mane, lion with ball-socket neck, hippopotamus with open mouth and two tusks, and elephant. Along with two monkeys with painted eyes, with variation of faces and original costumes; Black Dude with original costume; and bisque-head lady with purple felt costume and painted red stockings. Good to very good condition, original finish on each, albeit well played with. American, Schoenhut, circa 1910.
