14 1/2" (37 cm.) Bisque shoulder head depicting a mischievous rascal, sculpted brown boyish hair beneath a sculpted blue and white striped cap with black brim, very chubby cheeks, uniquely sculpted eyes (the right googly-shaped eye with down-glancing iris, and the left eye modeled as though "winking", being nearly closed with just a tiny squint of the iris), one-stroke brows, tiny nose, tiny closed side-slant mouth to accompany the squinting eye, muslin stitch-jointed body, composition hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Made in Germany ges 246 gesch 6/0A. Comments: Gebruder Knoch, circa 1910. Value Points: very rare character with captivating mischievous expression, rarity factors include sculpted cap, one winking eye, one googly eye, unusual tiny crooked smile, and superb detail of sculpting such as deeply impressed lip dimples and eye creases.
