Description
20" (51 cm.) Gypsum socket head, classic style III, with tan complexion, painted brown eyes, black and white upper eyeliner, fringed lashes, short feathered brows, closed mouth, slender nose, original long straight brunette hair with bangs, cloth twill body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sasha (pink rayon tag on undergarment). Comments: Sasha, the studio model was offered from the artist workshops from late 1940s throughout the 1950s; the undergarment rayon tag on this doll indicate 1952 production. Value Points: impeccably preserved, with superb painting and dreamy expression, wearing original Sasha costume comprising red flannel dress with windowpane striping, onesie undergarments, socks and black felt shoes; the doll was acquired by its present owner from Theriault's in 1999 and has been in her possession since that time.
