Each has earthenware head depicting woman with elegant heart-shaped face with downcast enamel eyes,brown sculpted hair with chignon,and man with wrinkled frowns in forehead,enamel eyes,brown sculpted hair,beard,and moustache,each with hemp-wrapped body,earthenware arms and lower legs,expressive fingers,sculpted feet and sandals. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neopolitan,circa 1800. Value Points: superbly preserved condition and outstanding presentation with original silk costumes. Being sold from The Strong Museum to benefit the collection funds,ex-collection Margaret Woodbury Strong.
