4" (10 cm.) The firm-sided writing box with red leather embossed cover is gilt lettered "Papeterie", and hinges open to reveal a well-fitted interior containing stationery, envelopes, various writing tools, including some stationery with tiniest hand-written notes and letters. Excellent condition. French, circa 1870.
