17" (43 cm.) diam. 16"h. dome. Arranged on a carpet-covered wooden platform under a blown glass dome is a generous family setting at holiday time, the family comprising father with sculpted sideburns and unusual original costume, the mother with elegant silk costume, and two young bisque children in original costumes, are seated or standing around the mahogany dining table and four matching chairs, and a decorated feather Christmas tree stands alongside. A banquet cake and a basket of fruits are on the table alongside a leather bound book "Dewdrops", and three little painted metal kittens play alongside the just-opened holiday gifts of dolls and toys. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1890, a wonderful nostalgic scene with rare miniature pieces.
