Description
28" (71 cm.) Slender elongated doll with pressed and painted facial features, brown side-glancing eyes, coral-shaded lips, pink lower lip with two accent dots, auburn mohair wig. Condition: very good, some fading, few moth holes. Comments: Lenci, circa 1925, the doll was possibly from a series of dolls shown in a photograph in their 1924 catalog titled "Carnaval de Venise", depicting an exhibit of Lenci salon "carnavel" dolls. Value Points: rare early model with original pink, red, yellow and black harlequin costume, matching extravagant hat, unique ruffled collar, gloves, felt-covered heeled shoes.
