Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, deluxe articulation of neck allowing side tilting and nodding movements, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, feathered brows and lashes, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, kid-over-wooden upper arms, and bisque forearms with beautifully sculpted hands and defined fingers, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulder). D'Autremont/Rue de Dauphin 6/Paris (torso stamp). Comments: the petite doll boutique of Benjamin D'Autremont, 1858-1866, presented luxury poupees for a short 8 years, being mentioned in the Gazette de la Poupee, and with distinctive and beautifully formed bodies. Value Points: rarity factors include D'Autremont signature, finely sculpted hands, deluxe articulation of neck, and gorgeous face.
