Description
17" (43 cm.) Standing upon a circular platform with wooden legs, is a bisque head clown with white complexion and painted red decorations, brown glass eyes, curvy brows, carrot red hair, wooden hands and feet and wearing original cotton pants, woolen jacket and hat. Protruding from an opening in the forehead of his upturned head is a wooden balancing rod upon which are posed five little mice, and an American flag waves from one end. When wound, the balancing rod revolves around and around. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: the simple, yet imaginative, mechanical toy is well preserved.
