24" (61 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head with pronounced plump sculpting of face and throat,black sculpted curls tumbling onto her shoulders and decorated with a sculpted garland of flowers that extend all around her head,inset enamel eyes,painted all-around lashes,red upper eyeliner,single-stroke brows,closed mouth,sculpted single red rose centered by green leaves at her center bosom,muslin stitch-jointed body,muslin arms with stitched and separated fingers,and wearing fine antique costume,lace collar,undergarments,stockings,leather shoes. Condition: some possible very old retouch to finish. Comments: early 19th century,the maker remains a mystery. Value Points: very rare model with wonderfully detailed coronet and bosom rose.
