17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with extra articulation allowing the head to also tilt forward and side-to-side in a realistic manner, brilliant cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line on pale lips, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, bisque arms to above the elbows with sculpted curled fingers. Condition: generally excellent, restoration to a few bisque fingers. Comments: French, circa 1865, possibly Dehors with his distinctive deposed head swivel system. Value Points: the beautiful poupee has brilliant eyes, wearing gorgeous antique silk costume of cream and aqua with lace detail, velvet bonnet, woven purse, undergarments, and slippers.
