26" (66 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face and elongated throat, black enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted upper and lower lashes, arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over painted black pate, kid poupee body with tiny waist, stitched and separated fingers, gusset-jointing at hips. Condition: very good, few rubs on cheeks, original complexion and features, body original albeit weak with few repairs. Comments: French, circa 1840, attributed to Andreas Voit with original hand-stitched body. Value Points: having regal presence, the doll wears original costume comprising lustrous grey velvet dress with fitted bodice and velvet zig-zag ribbons, matching jacket, lace chemisette, undergarments, velvet bonnet, leather hand-stitched shoes.
