Description
3 1/2" (9 cm.) x 4 1/2" inside dimensions. The elaborately woven cap is decorated with braided blue and ecru wool yarn, blue velour striping, and thick velour tassels. The very firm skull-shaped cap was designed to protect the head of a young child learning to walk. Excellent condition. French, circa 1865, an especially fine example.
