Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, heavily-modeled eyelids, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows with feathered detailing, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body, straight wrists, wearing fine antique cotton dress with cutwork bodice insert, original undergarments, Jumeau leather shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose 12". Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 12 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1885, the portrait bebe modeled by noted Parisian sculptor Carrier-Belleuse under commission from Jumeau. Value Points: very beautiful bebe, known as "Triste" in reference to her appealing sad expression, with finest quality bisque and painting, original body and body finish, superb original Jumeau mohair wig with bow, Jumeau rose earrings, signed early Jumeau shoes.
