Paper mache shoulder head with sculpted short brown curly hair having definition of shading at the forehead curls, painted brown eyes with black outline, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, wearing antique brown costume, undergarments, shoes, socks. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (holz-masse stamp). Comments: Dressel, circa 1880. Value Points: superb state of preservation, the gleaming patina is so fresh as to appear as though bisque, with rare brown hair and brown eyes, original body, original maker's stamp.
