Description
21" (53 cm.) Seated upon a velvet covered base is a lady with bisque head, brown glass eyes, real lashes, painted lower lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, bisque shoulderplate, composition lower arms, one piece carton torso and right leg, left leg hinged at hip. She is holding a powder puff in her right hand and a lorgnette in left right. When wound, music plays, she turns her head side to side, nods, blinks her eyes, alternately gazes through the lorgnette and then lifts the powder puff; meanwhile she taps her foots in time to the music. Condition: generally excellent, music and mechanism function well. Marks: 1159 Germany Halbig S&H 7 (head) L.B. (key). Comments: Lambert, circa 1895. Value Points: charming automaton with multiple movement, lovely costume and presentation.
