14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head, sculpted topknot, forelock, and side curls with decorative glaze on shaded locks, large brown glass inset side-glancing googly eyes, thick dark eyeliner, dark lushly painted lashes, short dash brows, closed mouth with thin line smile and impressed dimples at each edge of lips, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ges Gesch O'Neill JDK 10. Comments: Kestner, from the original illustrations of Rose O'Neill, circa 1912. Value Points: wonderful Kewpie with compelling expression, finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish, wearing superb antique khaki twill Cossack costume with leather belt and bugle.
