13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset-jointed lady body. Condition: generally excellent, body is near mint. Marks: B 1 S (front shoulderplate) Aux Amis De L'Enfance No. 256 Rue St. Honore...(body label). Comments: Blampoix, circa 1860, the poupee was presented at the prestige Parisian doll shop of Aux Amis de L'Enfance. Value Points: superb and perfectly-preserved early poupee with original wig, near mint body, wearing elaborate white pique costume, with undergarments, jewelry, bonnet, shoes marked C.C.
