24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips, heart-shaped upper lip with upturned lip corners, dimpled chin and philtrum, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Jumeau 11 (incised on head, and artist checkmarks) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, the rare model was made for one or two years only. Value Points: The gorgeous early Jumeau with pale bisque enhanced by rich decoration has an especially fine original wig, Jumeau earrings, beautiful antique silk costume, cream kidskin shoes impressed "A La Tentation Paris" indicating the prestige 19th century doll shop which first offered the doll.
