10" (25 cm.) Wrapped in a pressed paper bunting to simulate pique fabric are two wax head babies, each with blue glass eyes and closed mouths modeled as though open and with beaded teeth, blonde mohair wig, lace bonnet. The bunting is decorated with lace edging and blue silk ribbons, and has a pull-string "mama" crier. Condition: very good, all original, some dustiness of bunting. Comments: French, circa 1890, the models represent the popular French storybook figures "Jean qui rit" and "Jean qui pleure". Value Points: charming presentation is all original.
