19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, blonde mohair wig, composition bent limb baby body, antique dress, bonnet, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1488 Simon & Halbig 12. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1915. Value Points: rare closed mouth character with appealing wistful expression achieved by sculpted folds around the eyes and slightly-downcast mouth, in virtually unplayed with condition, original wig, body, body finish, store costume comprising baby dress, bonnet, undergarments, knit booties, and preserved in original labeled box whose three languages indicate the doll was marketed widely.
