10" (25 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head depicting young Asian boy, shaved scalp except arranged tuft of curls at his crown, enamel eyes, heavily-modeled eyelids, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted stockings and red ankle boots with pointy tips, wearing original court costume comprising yellow silk harem pants, green silk vest with gilt metallic threads, purple silk robes with gilt braid and paillettes. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, possibly from the school of Lorenzo Mosca.
