19th Century Child's Luxury Parlor Game "Do You Speak English?"

13" (33 cm.) x 12". A heavy stock flat box has beautifully designed chromolithographed lid depicting two children of the court surrounded by garlands of flowers and the phrase "Do You Speak English?" The interior has six game boards with various scenes and cut-out spaces to fit game pieces which depict the word in that space; a large number of game pieces with illustrations are included in the window-front narrow box. The lid is labeled Geselzich Geschützt. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1890.
