14" (36 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head depicting bald man with long flowing grey beard and moustache, enamel eyes, thick grey brows, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted yellow open-toe leggings with gilt-edged green rims, wearing outstanding original silk costume comprising harem pants, paper-lined twill tunic with gilt braid trim, magenta silk long coat with braid and paillette trim, extended-length green silk cap, crown-topped turban, and carrying sword and sabre. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
