13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brilliant blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, bisque lower arms with well-shaped cupped fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F 5/0 G. (block letters). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1882, early kid-bodied version of the firm's bebe. Value Points: the deeply modeled features are enhanced by splendid eyes and beautifully-painted lips, sturdy original body and bisque hands, antique costume, shoes, bonnet, and undergarments.
