Description
9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head, shadowed bald pate, brown sculpted short curls around side and back of head, enamel eyes with heavy eyelids, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings, black shoes with red buckles, wearing original homespun and silk costume. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, excellent characterization especially for this small size.
