14" (36 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very full cheeks and chin, inset blue glass enamel eyes with rich spiral threading and darker outer iris rims, mauve blushed eye shadow, wide feathered brows, painted lashes, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and accented lips, pierced ears, brunette human hand-tied wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, flakes at pierced ear holes. Marks: 0 (head). Comments: earliest period bebe by Emile Jumeau, circa 1877. Value Points: the exquisite portrait-like model is rarely found in this petite size, has gorgeous painted and sculpting especially around the mouth, original body and body finish, and is wearing a fine early dress that is likely original, original undergarments, lovey bonnet, and rose kidskin shoes with silk rosettes impressed "J".
