All-hard plastic with socket head, shapely lady body, sleep eyes with long lashes, closed mouth, hand-painted facial features including brows, lower lashes and lips, blonde coiffure drawn back into arrangement of curls at the crown and nape and with a cluster of curls at her forehead. Condition: near mint. Comments: Madame Alexander from her very rare Portrait Mystery series of 1951, the model known as "Victorian Bride". Value Points: the rarity of the doll is rivaled by its superb original condition; the original costume comprises tagged intricately constructed ivory satin two-piece gown with padded draped bosom, shoulder drapes, and skirt that features knee-length draping at the front above a lace and satin lower skirt, and with an elaborate five-tier graduated-size bustle arrangement at the back, lace sleeves, superb extended length veil of finest embroidered lace, matching satin panties, net stockings and cream slippers, cameo at neckline, and extravagant bouquet with satin ribbon streamers.
