11" (28 cm.) Each has wooden socket head, carved and lightly tinted facial features, painted hair (he with short side-parted hair, she with coiled chignon at back of head which is encircled by a band of flowers), cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: near mint. Marks: Manchu Bride (hand lettered ink script paper pinned to bride's under dress). Comments: Chinese Door of Hope wedding couple, circa 1925. Value Points: outstanding state of preservation with exquisitely detailed embroidery and accents of traditional silk ceremonial wedding garb.
