9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head of young girl, sculpted brown hair in coiled bun with red hair band and ribbon, enamel eyes, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, wearing original stiffened country costume and holding earthenware mug, affixed on original wooden base carved to simulate ground, along with her two pet goats, each all-carved wooden with well-defined horns, goatee, udder and painted white/brown hide. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, the rare assemblage, the carved wooden goats with particular attention to detail.
