26" (66 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head of adult lady with oval face and strong throat, well-formed chin, modeled bosom, black sculpted hair drawn smoothly around her forehead with unusual coiled braids in front of each ear, framed by paint scalloped curls, and hair drawn tightly back into a looped chignon at the back of her head encircled by woven braid, inset glass eyes, lightly-painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, early muslin shapely body, carved wooden shapely lower legs and arms, antique costume. Condition: very good, some fine early touch-up. Comments: Germany, circa 1830. Value Points: beautiful doll with very detailed rare coiffure and strongly-defined facial features, original body.
