Description
24" (60 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted blue eyes with glazed highlights, dark upper eyeliner, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips in pouting expression, impressed chin dimple, original blonde mohair wig in soft curls, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique dress is likely original. Condition: generally excellent, few wig pulls at back of head, 1/2" wig paint flake at front crown rim (under wig). Marks: K*R 114 60. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1910, the model "Gretchen" from the firm's art character series. Value Points: rare large size of the wonderfully-modeled child enhanced by deep sculpting and finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish, original soft wig.
