17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted hair, complexion and facial features, short brown hair with forelock detail, shaded green/brown eyes, white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth in downcast pouting expression, stitch jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed legs, separately stitched thumbs, early costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Germany Kathe Kruse 8173. Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1915. Value Points: early model with most endearing expression and posture, maker's early markings.
