Description
3 3/4" (10 cm.) Porcelain figure depicts a jester-costumed man with painted costume standing in a beseeching pose, a taufling doll held in each arm which he appears to be presenting to onlookers. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1860, Thuringia, mid-19th century, a series of merchant nodders was created at that time in various materials including paper mache and porcelain, this particular example of special relevance to doll collectors.
