14" (36 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with black sculpted center-part hair waved over her head and captured in a braided chignon at the back of her head, painted facial features, painted blue eyes, closed mouth with gentle smile, slender kid body with wooden lower limbs. Condition: original finish albeit some light craquelure, silk worn on sleeves. Comments: Germany, circa 1850s. Value Points: all-original wonderful wedding costume with lace-covered silk, fine lace apron, necklace, and an elaborate coiffe with velvet and rick-rack coiled turban, silk flowers, and waist-length veil.
