Late 19th Century Mechanical Tin Bird in Birdcage

8" (20 cm.) Having painted red tin base with embossed gilt leaf at each corner below the brass square-shaped cage, with brass ring. Perched on a painted tin leaf inside the cage is a brightly-painted tin bird. When keywound at the side, the bird flutters up and down. Generally excellent. Late 1800s.
