16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with delicately smiling expression achieved by upturned lip corners, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with square-cut collarette, gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, from his rare and distinctive smiling model deposed in the French courts in 1872. Value Points: the rare model has original very sturdy body, and wearing antique summer gown, undergarments, cream kidskin heeled boots and woven bonnet.
