Description
12" (30 cm.) Waist-up figure of lady turned sideways and bearing a heavily-laden tray of fruit in her outstretched arms, with brown sculpted hair in coiled chignon capped by a gilded coronet with beaded detail, and sculpted brown costume including white neck shawl. The half-doll is originally attached to metal frame with original woven cover and later silk skirt. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1915, inspired by the 16th-century Titian known as "Girl with Platter of Fruit", this example illustrates the variation in decoration compared to #60, in this catalog, by the same firm, and has rare original presentation skirt with original paper label ink labeled "59524".
