19" (48 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of adult lady with elongated throat and modeled bosom, sculpted black hair with elaborate coiffure, featuring narrow braids wrapped around a comb at the crown and very elaborate pouf curls at the sides of head, painted blue eyes in well-defined eye sockets, painted upper eyeliner and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden lower limbs, painted orange flat shoes, original costume. Condition: very good, some typical craquelure. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: very rare coiffure with wonderful detail, original body and costume.
