Description
10" (25 cm.) including handle. The doll-size wooden-framed washing machine has iron legs and straps, drain faucet at bottom edge, wooden handle which, when moved back and forth, causes the internal metal agitators to swivel back and forth. The machine is metal-lined and has a tin-lined wooden soap board. Very good/excellent, some aging of metal lid and interior. The lid is labeled "Schmidt's Waschmaschinen", and was created as a salesman's sample, designed for later child play, to encourage the sale of the full-size popular washing machine of the early 1900s (see image of promotional image created about 1900).
