14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, large grey/blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, padded stockinette lady body over metal armature, bisque hands and lower legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head) Bebe Gesland 5 Rue Beranger Paris (body stamp). Comments: circa 1875, bisque head attributed to Jumeau, with original body from Gesland according to Pannier deposed model of 1872. Value Points: especially beautiful face, very rare small size of the Gesland body with exquisite sculpting of hands and feet, superb original costume with blue silk ribbon trim, blue leather slippers, undergarments, and jewelry.
