Description
7 1/2" (19 cm.) doll. 9" x 9" box. A wooden cased presentation box is lavishly fitted with an ivory silk cover, including tufted cushion on the lid which is encircled by an ormolu frame, and with original ormolu escutcheon and brass key. The interior is fitted with a bisque shoulderhead doll with blue glass eyes, blonde mohair wig, closed mouth, muslin body, bisque lower arms, along with an assortment of costumes comprising burgundy satin dress, pinafore, various undergarments, straw bonnet, shoes, and with accessories including her own all-bisque miniature doll, two ormolu-framed lithographs, comb, mirror, tiny bisque doll, and a wonderful boutonniere fitted with a tiny winged doll. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 123-5/0 (doll). Comments: the doll by Kling in presentation for the French market, circa 1885. Value Points: outstanding presentation with all-original costumes and rare accessories and novelties is perfectly preserved.
