14" (36 cm.) w. x 10"h. x 9"d. The five-sided folding room is designed with side-angled window walls, and has original wall papers and gold paper edging, original valances with patterned silk draperies that match the original burgundy silk upholstery with interwoven floral designs. There is a gilt framed wall mirror, three ormolu framed portraits, and a superb ensemble of mahogany-finished salon furnishings with gilt paper edging, comprising a day bed with high canopy, piano and piano stool, mirrored armoire, fireplace mantel, fernery with original ferns and flowers, scalloped-edge pedestal table, four chairs and an ormolu umbrella stand. Included is a woven carpet. Excellent condition. For the French market, circa 1880, the room was originally presented with these furnishings, draperies and wall coverings, and remains perfectly-preserved.
