8" (20 cm.) The soft-paste majolica figurine depicts English Policeman as a Brownie standing upon a self-base which simulates stony ground, with three barrel jars arranged around him; the Brownie has a sculpted classic English Bobby costume which includes an open-top top helmet designed for use as candle holder. Incised 3196 from the series. Excellent condition. Circa 1895, inspired by the Palmer Cox Brownie illustrations.
