19" (48 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of lady with heart-shaped face and elongated strong throat, sculpted black hair with extended "beehive" topknot having narrow braids cascading at the back, ringlet curls at each side of face, large blue painted eyes, black upper eyeliner, fringed brows, closed mouth, slender kid body with wooden lower limbs, painted yellow boots, wearing original gold silk satin dress with metallic edging, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, minor typical craquelure on shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare early model in large size, with fine original finish and highly-stylized coiffure.
