In a variety of shapes and sizes, four firm-sided boxes have embossed gilt paper covering at the sides and reverse-painted glass lids with courtly or fashionable scenes, one opens to reveal fitted interior with mirrored lid and various compartments for accessories. Along with a gilt cast metal hinged round box with hand-painted floral scene on the lid. Excellent condition. French, mid-1800s.
