12" (30 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, very plump cheeks, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye cut, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with heart-shaped upper lip, accented detail of delicate lip coloring, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, original kid bebe body based on the Bru deposed model, square cut collarette, one-piece curved kid upper arms with bisque hands, separately sculpted fingers, defined knuckles and nails, gusset-jointed hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, right baby fingertip restored. Marks: 3/0 (head) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1879, the first model of his bebe. Value Points: very beautiful petite bebe is preserved in remarkable condition, with original very sturdy body with original label, finest quality bisque and painting, original wig, very rare size.
